Enjoy Life with Weight Loss Tips

“Have a healthy life & you can enjoy fashion so much more than if you eat too much sugar & cake.” – Karl Lagerfeld

You look best when you’re in shape.  Every woman may not be able to attain a size 2, but garments fit the best on a tight body, and it’s great not to have to worry how your body will look in clothes.  Whether you are trying to stay slender or achieve a model’s silhouette, these tips will help you think thin and fabulous.

Visualize yourself skinny.  Picture the girl you want to be.  What would she order at the drive-thru window?  If it helps, think about what people think when they watch you eat.  It isn’t just shallow – Making good food choices represents the respect you have for yourself.

Know calorie counts ahead of time. Do a quick Google of your favorite menu items.  If you splurge, eat light at your other meals to budget your calories.  Keep a journal of everything you eat; You’ll think twice about what you put in your mouth if you know you’ll have to put it on paper.

Watch your drinks.  Non-diet beverages are often high-cal, even seemingly healthy drinks such as juices.  And of course alcoholic drinks are usually packed with calories.  Plan drinks the same way you plan food, based on your calorie goals.  A glass of white wine is around 100-150 calories.  A shot of vodka is around 80 calories, and can be mixed with diet cola or Lite Cranberry Juice (just 40 calories per glass!)

Invest in exercise you love.  And I mean invest mentally, emotionally, and financially.  For me, a gym membership is useless, as I’d rather work out at home in my sweats.  I keep free weights at home and do pilates while watching E.  If you are a gym rat type, invest in the best and cutest workout clothes.  Buy equipment you’ll be excited to use.

Be scantily clad.  At least in your own home.  When you can see exactly where every bite is going to go, you’ll be much more likely to make smart food choices.

Extra help – Products: Pale is pretty in right now, but a tan can make your body look 10 pounds slimmer. L’Oreal Sublime Bronze adds a bit of holiday shimmer – Dilute with 50% your regular body lotion to avoid streaks.  Nivea Goodbye Cellulite is one of my current obsessions, and I swear it really does cut down on thigh & booty dimples.

Pale is definitely in… I translate that for me by aiming to have a clear, “translucent” complexion, I suppose.

Do you find that since knowing the calorie content of almost everything you eat, you can kinda “eye” something and know the approximate fat/sugar/protein/calorie composition? Like when I go to a restaurant, I’ve become pretty good at guessing what I can gorge on and what I should pass on… I’m sure you have, too!

I can definitely estimate well, especially with fast food and hot drinks. Luckily using a BlackBerry, I can (and do) look up calories on the go. I’d rather get laughed at for looking up an item’s nutritional content in public than unknowingly eat an 800 calorie burger.

These are great tips! Especially the drinks one. So many people watch what they eat, but then drink whatever they want without realizing the damage they are doing.

I agree so much about workouts you love. I think a lot of people fail at going to gyms religiously or making a habit out of working out because they do such boring routines! I’ve been ~in love~ with Carmen Electra’s Fit to Strip routine and Shawn T’s Fat Burning Cardio for ages now and both routines have yet to bore me. It really motivates me to work out because I have so much fun doing it.

I think my biggest obstacle to being perpetually fit/skinny is my alcohol habit, seeing that I don’t really drink soda. I didn’t drink last night, tho, and it felt so nice to wake up on a Saturday sans hangover and with a relatively flat tummy!

I’m a gym rat and I think cute work out gear is essential because if you feel good while working out, you’ll have a lot more confident. And tight-fitting clothes will show off your figure whereas if you wear baggy clothes, you’ll think nothing’s working because you can’t really see your silhouette.

I can’t do work out videos at home though… they get so boring and I hate routine. I’d rather be at the gym at my own pace or doing my own quick and dirty intense circuit work outs at home.

I use The Daily Plate as a food journal.. I don’t use it accurately or religiously though. I don’t believe in totally obsessing over your diet but using it as a guideline helps a lot.
